UT Muslims has its third trip for this year and this time we went to Belgium! We rented two cars and gathered at the spiegel building at 17.30 on Friday 10 November 2017. The journey was about 300 km and took about 3.5 hours. We took a quick bite for dinner and were immediately on our way to Brussels. Alhamdulillah we arrived safely at Brussels to the house we rented via AirBnB. It was a very pleasant place with a garden and multiple bedrooms. We prayed Isha and as we were exhausted, it was time to rest. The next morning we got up, prayed Fajr and had some breakfast. Then we all got prepared to explore Brussels. The first destination is the Grand place. Grand Place is the central square of Brussels. It is surrounded by opulent guildhalls and two larger edifices, the city's Town Hall, and the Breadhouse building containing the Museum of the City of Brussels. The square is the most important tourist destination and most memorable landmark in Brussels. We also had Brussels signature waffels with some toppings. We strolled around the city centre for a while and then had a quick bite for lunch as we had to hurry for the Grand Mosque of Brussels. It is the oldest mosque and Brussels and of course we took the chance of checking out Park Cinquantenaire. We did not have a lot of time, so we were off to our Next Destination which is Gent. We arrived at around sunset and first checked out the city centre. We got to the Gravensteen castle as well but unfortunately it was already closed. Nevertheless, it was a great sight By now, it was dark and the vibe changed as well. And in the dark, photography can give some interesting results. It was getting late, so we had dinner at a local turkish restaurant and went back to Brussels to get some rest. The next morning we packed our bags and went to our final destination which is Bruges. It is a canal based city in the Flemish region of Belgium. We explored the city centre and then took boat trip just like the one in Giethoorn. We had to get back to Enschede soon so we had lunch at a Tandoori restaurant, prayed Dzuhur and Asr at a local mosque were on our way. Alhamdulilah, we all got back safely at Spiegel at around 7 pm. UT Muslims would like to thank all that took part and this trip and we hope that you all had a great time!
