Jemaah,
Last week’s sermon reminded us of how critical it is for every mukmin (believer) to consistently strive to contribute to the community and the country. When we talk about giving and contributing, we are not simply referring to monetary contributions. In fact, contributions also include giving our time and energy, sharing our ideas, and doing good deeds that can lead to better lives for humanity. Let us ponder upon a hadith that tells us of the contribution of a companion. Although it was a small contribution, it was done with such sincerity that it was important in the sight of Allah s.w.t. My beloved brothers in Islam,
Allah () has preferred some places over other places, and he has preferred some times over other times, and he has preferred some humans over other humans. In our Islamic Aqidah, a muslim is not a believer unless he believes in the messengers of Allah. We believe that these messengers are the best of humanity, the best of all mankind. Out of these prophets and messengers, Allah () has preferred some of them over each other. Allah () says in Surat AlBaqarah: تِلْكَ الرُّسُلُ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۘ مِّنْهُم مَّن كَلَّمَ اللَّهُ ۖ وَرَفَعَ بَعْضَهُمْ دَرَجَاتٍ Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. Allah swore in His Book that all people are losers and shall enter Hell except those who believe in Allah, do righteously, and commend one another with the truth and patience. Allah (Glory be to Him) says:
