Eid has come to an end, thus it is time to rejoice! In a joint effort, UT Muslims, IMEA (Indonesian Muslims in Enschede Association) and PPIE (Indonesian students association in Enschede) holds an open house to celebrate the end of Ramadan. Eid was actually on the 25th of June, but back then it was still uncertain on which day Eid will be held. Thus it was decided that the official celebration will be held the week after. The open house was situated at the mondriaan complex of twente and many people came to attend. To start the event, the Indonesian children gave a performance of Quran recitation and salutations to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Then the feast began; after 29 days of fasting it was time to spoil ourselves with a delicious meal. There were lost of food being served. There was rice, varieties of vegetables, meat and snacks. And certainly, we served barbecue as well. It was a great opportunity for the Muslim community of twente to finally get together. The Muslims come from various countries including Indonesia, Egypt, Lebanon, India, Bangaladesh, Pakistan, Iran and several more. We all had a great time and enjoyed each others company. UT Muslims would like to thank IMEA for providing logistics and food. We would like to thank everyone else for attending our event as well. We hope to see you all again soon.
